The original version of the United Streets map mimicked the style of Pierre L'Enfant's 1791 plan for the City of Washington. It omits all of the north-south and east-west streets, and adds all of the state avenues created over the history of the District.
The subsequent revision of this map, which takes the style of a political map of the United States, is now available as a print.
